I am an experienced and versatile developer providing 7+ years of experience in development. I have been working very closely with UNIX based systems since 1997. I have worked at several different companies as a Developer in a LAMP environment, taking advantage of the flexibility of scripting languages such as Perl for the application logic while relying on MySQL for the database backend.

  • Evaluated available solutions to simplify updating of site content for non-technical staff and members. Selected and installed PHP WordPress blog application along with plugins for contact forms and scheduled events.

  • Worked on Premium project to enable contacting found people via email without exposing individuals to spammers with internal Perl framework.
  • Maintained internal browser-based reporting tools and created new ones as needed. These HTML views were generated with Perl and XSLT, adding CSS and JavaScript for styling and AJAX interactivity where practical.

  • Developed utilities as needed for IT department
  • Wrote .My Big Fish Games. calculation script using Perl and MySQL stored procedures. This tool determined new affiliates based on nightly transactions and calculated commissions and statistics through the hierarchy of the membership tree. Nightly transaction data was extracted from MYSQL, SQL-Server, and CSV files. Basic functionality was confirmed with Test::More before handing off to QA.
  • Maintained database records and sales transaction information with a mix of Perl and PHP scripts.

  • Part of the team that developed a personalized portal for owners of the CMi iceBox Internet Appliance using Perl, Oracle, and Solaris. Application made use of CGI and DBI library, later extending CGI code into mod_perl.
